My Poetry

Words that flow from the heart

Poetry has always been my way of processing the world—finding meaning in ordinary moments, expressing emotions too deep for everyday words, and connecting with others through shared human experience.

Below are some of my poems. I hope they speak to you as they have spoken through me.

O God of My Imagining

O god of my imagining,
whispering, mysterious,
tiptoeing through my consciousness,
whirling through my mind.

Softly flickering inner light,
beloved, dancing spirit,
I feel you deep within me
and I'm listening to you.

Tuesday

It started out as such a lovely day.
Morning breezes swept away
the urban haze
that paints most days
a dismal shade of gray.

The skyline on this Tuesday
had a backdrop of bright blue.
We climbed up from the subway,
alighted from the bus,
and sunshine smiled on us.
It started out as such a lovely day.

It ended as the darkest day of all.
Grey smoke obscured the sun
as bits of paper,
dusty fragments,
lost lives drifted down.

The skyline on that Tuesday
had a hole right through its heart.
We gazed at smiling photos,
the missing posted there,
such loss and deep despair.
It ended as the darkest day of all.
